Website development for the Romanian market

The Romanian market has requirements Moldova does not: mandatory e-invoicing in B2B, consumer authority obligations for shops, different payment processors and a .ro registry with its own rules.

A website for Romania is not the same project as one for Moldova, even when the language is the same.

The differences are not in design. They are in compliance, payments and integration — and if they are not known in advance, they get discovered after launch.

What is specific to the Romanian market

e-Invoicing. Electronic invoicing through the tax authority's system is mandatory in business-to-business relationships. If the shop issues invoices to companies, it has to know how to submit them to the system, not merely generate a PDF.

Consumer authority obligations. An online shop selling to consumers has information duties and must display the links to alternative dispute resolution. These are checkable requirements, not recommendations.

Different payment processors. Netopia, EuPlătesc, PayU and the others each have their own requirements and fees, different from the Moldovan ones. The choice is made before the build, not after.

Different accounting packages. SAGA, WinMentor, SmartBill, Oblio. If the shop has to connect to accounting, the integration is with those, not with 1C.

The .ro domain. The registry is ROTLD, with its own registration and transfer procedures.

Usually one language. Unlike Moldova, where Romanian and Russian are the norm. That simplifies the structure, but not automatically the project.

What we build

A prerendered site, with the content visible to search engines and to the crawlers feeding AI answers. Payments wired to the processor that fits the market. Invoicing compatible with current requirements. Integration with your accounting package. Correct structured data.

The handover is complete: code, domain, accounts, documentation — detailed here.

How we work remotely

We are in Chișinău, not in Romania. In practice that means the same language, the same hour and usually a lower cost than a Bucharest agency. What it does not mean is a physical presence — if the project needs weekly meetings at your office, it is better to know from the start.

Questions

Do you know the Romanian requirements?

Yes: e-invoicing, the consumer obligations for shops, the local processors and the accounting packages used there. They are not the same as in Moldova, and a supplier who does not see the difference discovers it after launch.

Which payment processor should be used?

It depends on volume, product type and your bank. It gets chosen before the build, because each has a different integration flow.

Can you connect the shop to SmartBill or SAGA?

Yes. They are different integrations from 1C, with their own documentation, but the same category of work.

Do you work with Romanian companies while based in Chișinău?

Yes. The same language and the same time zone are what separate us from a supplier elsewhere in Europe. We do not have an office in Romania and we do not claim to.
