Website for an optical shop

In an optician's, the frame is what you see and the lenses are where the money is. Websites show ten pages of frames and no explanation of lenses — exactly the wrong way round.

A client walks into an optician's for a frame and leaves with an invoice where the frame is less than half the total.

The rest is lenses: progressive, thinned, anti-reflective, photochromic. Nobody has ever explained the difference, so they take whatever the assistant says.

The optician whose site explains lenses wins the client before they walk in.

What an optician's site actually needs

Eye test booking. It is the front door of the whole business. A contact form is not the same thing as a calendar with free slots.

The lenses, explained. Single vision, progressive, thinning index, anti-reflective, blue light filter, photochromic. What each does, who it suits, what the price difference is. It is the most valuable content in the field and almost nobody writes it.

A frame catalogue with real filters. Shape, material, size, brand, gender. Not a gallery of 300 photos with no filters.

Prescription upload. A client who already has a prescription from an ophthalmologist should be able to order without coming in twice.

Contact lenses with repeat ordering. This is the recurring revenue in optics. Someone on monthly lenses orders twelve times a year — if it is easy.

The guarantee and the adaptation period. What happens if they cannot get used to progressives. It is the main fear and it is rarely addressed.

Children's eyewear separately. Different frames, different replacement cycles, a different person deciding. It is its own search.

The integrations that matter

Booking wired to the optometrist's calendar. Not a form that lands in an inbox.

A contact lens subscription. Delivery at a fixed interval, recurring payment. The simplest way to make revenue predictable.

Frame stock from the inventory system. A frame shown and unavailable produces a wasted trip and a bad review.

Common mistakes

A frame catalogue with nothing about lenses. It misses exactly the part that carries the margin.

No online booking. The eye test is the first step of every sale.

No repeat ordering for contact lenses. The client buys wherever it is easiest, and usually that is not you.

Manufacturer catalogue photos. Every optician has the same images, so none of them differentiates.

What we build

A prerendered site with booking on the real calendar, pages explaining lenses, a frame catalogue with filters and stock, prescription upload and a contact lens subscription on recurring billing. Romanian and Russian. Shop structured data with hours and services.

Questions

Why write about lenses if I sell frames?

Because lenses are most of the invoice. A client who understands the difference between indexes chooses deliberately and spends more; one who does not chooses the cheapest.

Is online booking for eye tests worth it?

Yes. It is the first step of every sale, and the barrier to calling is real, especially for routine checks people already postpone.

How does the contact lens subscription work?

The interval and the prescription are set once, and delivery and payment repeat automatically. The client does not have to remember, and you have monthly revenue.

Do I need real frame stock on the site?

Yes. A frame shown and missing means a client who came for nothing, and that ends up in the reviews.
