The difference from Moldova is that most Romanian companies have already had a CRM.
That changes the problem. It is no longer "how do we get the reps to use it", it is "why do the same details have to be entered in three places".
Why the second CRM fails
It cannot see the invoices. The salesperson closes an opportunity, but the invoice is issued in another system. From the CRM, nobody knows whether it was paid.
It cannot see stock. A delivery date gets promised that has no relationship to what is in the warehouse.
It has old data migrated badly. Duplicate clients, contacts who left their companies three years ago, opportunities still open from 2022. A CRM with dirty data is ignored exactly like an empty one.
It demands double reporting. If the team fills in the CRM and then a file for the meeting, the CRM is a burden rather than a tool.
What matters here
Integration with invoicing. In a market with mandatory B2B electronic invoicing, the invoice data is already structured. A CRM that reads it shows the real state of each client, not only what the rep noted down.
A link to accounting. SAGA, SmartBill, WinMentor. Balance and payment history change the sales conversation entirely.
Contact data and GDPR. A CRM is a database of people. You have to know what you collect, on what basis, how long you keep it and how you delete on request. It is a requirement, not an option.
One report, generated. If the sales meeting is prepared from a separate file, the system has failed, however good it is.
What gets built
Integration with invoicing and accounting, cleaning and migrating the existing data, reporting generated from the system, and the removal of double entry. Configured to your process, not to a generic one.
The data stays yours and exportable — see who owns it.
The sign that a CRM is working
There is one: after a month, it contains information that exists nowhere else. If everything in it is duplicated in a file or an email, the system is not working yet — and the fix is not to add features but to remove friction.
The second sign comes later: someone leaves the company and the relationships with their clients stay. That, in the end, is the only reason a CRM is worth paying for.
Questions
Do we replace the current CRM or repair it?
Usually the integrations get repaired rather than the system replaced. Migrating to another CRM costs more than connecting the existing one to invoicing and accounting.
What do we do with the old data?
It gets cleaned before migration: duplicates, inactive contacts, dead opportunities. A CRM starting with dirty data loses the team's trust in the first week.
Does the CRM have to see the invoices?
Yes. Without that, the sale and the payment are two separate stories and nobody knows which client actually pays.
How long does it take?
It depends how many systems have to be linked and how clean the data is. Cleaning often takes longer than the integration.
